My new Orion will arrive this week and I have downloaded the manual. I had been using SignaLink SL-1+ with the Jupiter. I notice that the AUX socket on the Jupiter is 5 pin and the Orion is an 8 pin.
Dick, The cable that comes with the Orion is the same cable as the Jupiter. The only problem I notice is the audio from the sub-receiver goes down when I turn up the audio from the main receiver. I w
I am a new Orion owner after having bought a used unit last week. The unit was just repaired and upgraded with the latest hardware changes about three weeks ago. All seems to be working well except a
It took a master reset. Don't understand why the problem arose in the first place. I was copying CW on 30M when all of a sudden the problem appeared. Finally decided on trying a master rest after hav
Joe, Glad you got your Orion, I think you'll come to really love it. It's the best thing going today for RX performance. The problem you found seems to be a common problem many of us are seeing. When
Rich, thanks for your confirmation that this is a known problem and that a master reset eliminates it. BTW, the problem resurfaced last night about 60 minutes after I had tried the reset. I have not
Has anyone interfaced the Orion to N1MM logger? While my Orion was in the shop being repaired I switched logging programs from WL to N1MM. With the Orion back on the table, I cannot seem to make it i
I am switching from WL to N1MM also. I can't seem to get the Orion and N1MM logger to work consistently. I am able to get them to work for a short while then either the computer or the Orion hangs up
Thanks to the quick responses. I found the problem. It was cockpit error of course. I had the wrong baud rate set. 73 bob de w9ge -- Original Message -- From: "W9GE" <finger@goeaston.net> To: <orion@
Hi, Did you install DLPORTIO? If not, Look at the N1MM help under installation. Hope this helps 73s Rich K5SF From: "Dave LeDuc" <dleduc@adelphia.net> To: "W9GE" <finger@goeaston.net>, <orion@contest
I used N1MM Logger with my Orion under WinXP (Home) for two 48-hour contests in the past two months without any problems. I was actually quite impressed with how solidly they worked together. N1MM is
Just as a follow up to my previous posting and consistent with other reports, there is no doubt that turning the Sweep function on does bring up the problem. The received note becomes raspy, the nois

I have run into a strange problem. I received my Orion about 5 days ago and from time to time I have been running PSK31 on it using the SignaLink SL-1+ interface and both the MultiMode and DarwinPsk
My previous postings attributing my Orion's raspy received CW note and other symptoms to software origins were dead wrong. I had previously agreed with others that the problem arose when the sweep fu

Thanks to everyone who answered my post about the problem with the SignaLink interconnection. Actually, as it turned out, I guess it never worked on TX since I received the Orion about 5 days ago. I
This morning I lent my Orion to Rob Sherwood, NC0B, of Drake fame, to run it through its paces with his exacting tests. Not that other test are not exacting but Rob further tests at 2KHz and 1KHz spa
For some reason the test results wrapped so that they are hard to read. I am going to try to redo them below so they are easily understood: Dynamic Range Test 100 KHz 20 KHz 5 KHz 2 KHz 1 KHz Spacing
OK the test is now complete and here is some more information: At one KHz spacing, the dynamic range is as follows: 1.8 KHz filter 72 dB (expected as signal is right against filter-more on this later
