Conversely I have ECM's on both the indoor and outdoor units and the compressor is a VFD. No RFI. It depends on the vendor, their OEM's, etc. Best advice is find an installer that will take the time

I also have a Carrier Infinity system. A really great product and I have never experienced any RFI from it. More importantly, the variable speed components save a LOT of electricity and are so quiet
