On Upper Sideband an audio note is heard when a signal is ABOVE the "effective BFO frequency" and in order to bring that note to zero beat, one must tune upward, lowering the pitch of the audio note

Yes, mine does the same thing. The VOX indicator does not come on when you go from SSB to CW but it is obviously still active. It also freezes the sweep when a noise activates the transmit. Good news
