Merv, I have the Omni VI+, and I think it is nearly identical to the opt 3. Mine is very clean with few noticeable birdies. The fact that you have birdies at a high level doesn't seem right. I guess

There was a particular encoder that Ten Tec used for a while that wasn't of the best quality. I've had to replace my main tuning encoder. The Ten Tec parts department carries a replacement encoder. R
