John, Does this indicate a look at the Jupiter in the near future? John Graves WA1JG jh.graves@verizon.net V Best Regards, John Henry TenTec Engineering ______________________________________________
Sturat, I am plumbing unknown depths but think our group will need a wire antenna of some flavor for 80/40 use. Have you had any experience with 80/40M Delta loops. We have a nice field athere are so
My local club owns 3 TecTec transceivers, all of which have problems. it is a shame because people want to try the rigs. Our oldest is a Triton IV. Often enough to be really annoying, the VFO quits a
The Triton IV is a Model 544 (sort of obvious) Does anyone have a pdf of the Paragon manual? I can't find that manual listed on the TT site. It only shows the Paragon II TNX, John Graves WA1JG jh.gra
I loaned out my Omni-D and 280 supply but it appears that the PS is not working. The meter light does not come on. I checked the voltage on the 2 white center wires on the connector and found no volt
Dave, You are confirming what I thought....that the switch might be the source of the problem. Actually, I checked it after pressing both top and bottom of the switch. next is taking the top off the
Well, so far I proved that wiggling is legit way of fixing some things. After wiggling a few wires I now have 110 AC on the white wires and I can see that I still don't have the supply working. The f
Well. Wiggling is not permanent. It seems as though sometimes I measure the 120V on the 2 white wires and sometimes not. Unless someone has a better suggestion, I plan to solder a bridge to the white
I have had until recently, an R7 that worked almost anywhere I wanted to try, but if you want to talk 1.4 wave verticals, I would thing you want to start with Severns article in QST (In 2000). Also w
With apologies to all, the article I was thinking about was by Jerry Sevick, W2FMI in April, 1978 QST on Short radial systems, not Somers as I cited., John -- WA1JG WA1JG@nsradio.org
Please take this with the grain of salt that it deserves. I am not the author and am only quoting what I read (or thought I read). The 1978 article on shortened antennas and radials is available from
Ken, Can you supply or provide a source for the gray paint used on theTenTec 280 Power Supply? I have a 280 that came with my Omni-C and the paint has worn around the switch. John -- WA1JG WA1JG@nsra
Wrong header on the right question. Does anyone have a source for a small quantity of the gray paint used on the 280 power supply? I would like repair the wearmarks around the power switch on my 280.
Hmmmmm...Maybe I should keep the 2 2B's and sell the Jupiter....then again maybe not. Truth is, I find recently that I am spending as much time operating with the Argosy set at 5 W. Good audio, prett
In the FWIW dept. there is a an Orion II listed in the used equipment list at HRO. I was surprised to see one there. If this is against forum rules, It will be deleted. -- John Graves WA1JG jh.graves
Richards, Do both you and your significant other have PHD's or the like? That's why you have a paradox? John Graves WA1JG jh.graves@verizon.net I guess it's just so quiet, signal-to-noise-wise that i
Seeing how you raised the subject, perhaps you have driven a Corvair ragtop with a blown engine.....and I don't mean broken.......or do you have one of the Ct race preped Corvairs in the garage. Ah w
But John......You could always by a Shelby kit and put a small block in.....With the right tires you could have some fun. John Graves WA1JG jh.graves@verizon.net John I have driven a Corvair ... but
My Argosy has developed an annoying problem. The audio level (I think) goes to or approaches zero. If I repower, audio returns to normal until it happens again. As I am using it primarily for QRP and
Frank, I suggest you look for an Cushcraft R7. It has the traditional sleeve traps which make it relatively narrow...It does want short radial extenstions at the bottom but they will scare the birds
