Al, I had the same problem with the same power supply. I then purchased the higher current version (22 amps) of the same power supply. The noise was very bad. It sounded like a parasitic, and drifted

Whoops, sorry .. you have the Astron power supply. I misread your message. But the message I sent you from the supplier of the TenTec switching supply should also apply to the Astron, and should work

A kind gentleman E-Mailed me a message concerning my desire to find a Century-22. I had three (one at a time) Scouts, and each of them drifted or jumped frequency at the higher CW speeds, and had to

I have owned three Scouts, at different times, and found them to be great little rigs, except for the drift problem. The receiver is great, and on SSB, the rig just could not be beat. I consistently

I agree, but don't let it have the VFO system of the Scout. I have had three Scouts, all of which worked fine on SSB. But at 25-30 WPM, CW, Those little rigs drifted right out of the other station's

I, for one, would jump on that lil Scout if it had that VFO changed. As far as I can tell, that is its only weakness. Using fans, slowing down, etc, takes the fun out of a small, compact, easily port

Jack, that is my only complaint with the Scout. People would ask me if I was using a Scout when I started jumping and drifting. I had three of them. If they ever fix that problem, I will have one for

Well, Bill, I didn't do anything as sophisticated as that, although it would sure be interesting. I no longer have the three Scouts; they just drifted and jumped too much, and I had too many comments

Bill, while I did not notice the drift on the receiver, I did notice the jumping. The receiver would jump frequency. But, as someone mentioned, the transmitter drift appeared to be heat related, and
