I do not work for Ten-Tec, but I do not think the 526 has any way to be upgraded without replacing DSP chips, proms, pals, or ICs. There is not even a way to control the radio from a PC or interface

We should not start pointing fingers at Ten-Tec. They never said the Omni VI was 60M ready or upgradeable. As none of their older radios will be either. Only their new rigs support instead band adds.
