Funny, when I tried it with Orion II v3.027 I got 1.0 in the Tune position and 1.4 with full output, on 28.500. 73 Ray W2RS _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@

Ah, you're using the internal tuner. I don't have one. Maybe it's a tuner issue? 73 Ray W2RS _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.con

Actually, the O II SWR sensor was never that accurate anyway, compared to a good external wattmeter. The O II SWR reading is also dependent on the power level, i.e., it reads higher at full output th

I imagine most of the serious operaton will probaly be QRSS. Some version of JT65 might work too, but the present ones consume too much bandwidth. 73 Ray W2RS ________________________________________

That's basically what EMEers do with their sequencers, etc., to protect their external preamps, but they don't need QSK. There still may be some high-speed switching solution that I'm not aware of. 7

Hi John, I'm quite pleased with v3.028 on CW, especially the SAF. I still have an issue with it on SSB, namely the performance with the 707 mic. My 707 worked well with v2.041XT, but with v3.028 I ha

Thanks for the info guys, but RF feedback is only part of the problem. There is still audio distortion caused by having to run the mic input and H/W mic gain at too high a level (with the 707 mic). I

I hear you, but the 707 worked well under v2 firmware without the need for a preamp. The Orion II's dynamic range was wide enough to handle the gain that the 707 requires. It appears that the dynamic
