I can only tell you which one to avoid. Do NOT buy the old OMNI-A or OMNI-D (series B or C) as they have very low sensitivity on 160, by design. It does not seem like that would be a problem on 160,

Use a horiz. loop. Basically a full wave loop. I have one for 80 mt, fed at a corner and it averages about 22 ft, strung from tree to tree to tree to a short pole on the back porch (the feed point.)

It is a great receive ant, I can here as well as anyone....but.... a low loop is a high angle radiator (but it is very effective in that direction..), now with just 50 w or less I would use CW for DX

any My horiz loop is cut for 160m and the harmonic falls on 3520khz. The feedpoint impedance of a loop on it's fundemental frequency is about 100 ohms. Harmonics will result in impedances of from 10

Hi, I've used my TT scout with good sucess on 160m.. I doubt that the difference between 100watts and fifty can be noticed on that band very often.. and the Rx in the Scout in excellent on that band.
