has anyone modified a scout module to receive on different frequencies. i would like to tune down to the LW band - 100khz - 500 khz for beacon hunting. it would seem that it should be pretty easy. ma

I've never tried it, but had this grandiose idea of converting one to the 60 meter band. Using crystal control, and ignoring the PTO, it would basically be crystal controlled and you would select the

Mike, Depending on the fixed range of the PTO, no reason you could not put a proper crystal in the module to mix with the standard PTO to produce the 60m band. The modules contain the xtal controlled

John, it's probably easier to build an outboard receiving converter, than to modify an existing Scout module. I'd prefer to leave the module intact, unless I had a scrap one. Scout modules have becom
