I was just curious if anyone had any experience with this antenna. Has anyone mounted a vertical in the middle of a pond or lake? Are radials still essential in a water mounted scenario? If so why? M
I have just installed the DX Eng 4 sq Rcv array. I built it with 70ft sides for 80/160. It seems to work pretty well on both bands. I am wanting to build another rcv antanna to compliment this. I was
Installed the MA160V on Saturday but still had some matching issues to resolve as I laid down more radials than the manual called for. I worked HC8N, EA8 and CT9, K, and VE. I didn't spend much time
Merle, Great questions. I have not really tested the actual front to back of the array. I did not have time. You can adjust it in the field. The manuals for all the 4sq equipment is available at www.
I tried to place an order today with Amidon for a 2:1 UNUN and their muti matching UNUN boxes and was told that is would be 2 to 6 months before they "might" have them again. Any other sources for si

I am looking for some suggestions on eliminating some fairly significant Broadcast interference. KOA radio 850 is probably 5 miles away and 50kw. I have a couple of ICE 402X and they really seem to k
Just a heads up. I was having some problems with my 4sq receiving array and found that the coax was pulling back from the connectors so that there was no contact being made. These were on high qualit
You might look at the K9AY receiving loops from Array Solutions or the 4 sq receive antennas from Dx Engineering. I have used the DXE 4 sq rcv antennas and they work very well. Mike W0MU ____________
I was reading ON4UN's Low Band DXing Book and ran across a comment he made about beverages not working near the ocean and the Heard Is folks could never get one working. I know we used one from V47 a
I worked them on one call last night. I had to run out and hook up the 160 antenna at 0600 hi! Great signals even without receive antennas. They showed up at our sunrise on 160 this am too. _________

Longer would be better for 160. There are some sweet spots for length for 160. You need a matching system. Dx Engineering makes a pretty slick two way system with the matching units etc. You don't ha
