I think you are confusing buried radials with elevated radials. The only time you start seeing a drastic change when adding lots of radials is with ground mounted verticals utilizing buried radials.

Your friend is much better off getting the hustler off the ground. Ground mounting is the latest fad but in reality ground mounting a trapped vertical is considered a LAST RESORT! They really perform

The problem is not the stripper, but not knowing how to use it. A coax stripper in my opinion is a complete waste of money. I can strip coax with a sharp razor blade faster and much more accurate the
