Why use poorly designed antennas in the first place, ropes in the elements just fixes a poor design. Sure if you get those poorly designed antennas for free but I wouldn?t pay money for them. Proberl
Dale, no offence but this is not new to me, I know excactly how to remove rivets, and put them in. Different opinions but I still think it?s easier to remove two screws instead of drill out rivets. H
I started to use stainless screws more then 25 years ago, I have gone thru that process with corroded screws a long time ago and did learn. I have more then 70 yagi ( HF bands) elements up in the air

Yes I know. The first Yagi I built 30 years ago lost the elements after just 2 weeks due to vibrations/resonance, was then fixed with ropes since at that stage I didn?t know better. These days I don?
With due respect ON4KJ I simply can?t get what?s so funny about what I wrote, please let me in on the fun. Now, if you think it was a joke I must inform you that that wasn?t the meaning. Since this d
Yes I did ignore the question, as many also do with questions I ask, that?s life. To answer it shortly. I feel no need to present my designs at this forum. You can choose to either beleive what I?m s
Well, I was going to back out of this but I guess it?s difficult. This is the second time Steve point this out, I thought everybody had gotten the picture. This is more or less the way I have designe
Just came to think of one thing. Since I?m using double tubing in the center it might act like a damper of some kind. Actually the inner tube goes right thru the other tube and then there are spacers
Thank?s for this info, very interesting. After reading this I can see that I did some right things. What I mean with my elements isn?t vibrating is that I can neither see or hear any vibration, I hav
Thank?s Hank very good explanation. Now nobody has to ask anymore and I can see I have done the right thing. Also I don?t have to explain anymore with my crummy English, but people doesn?t beleive me
IMO this is the best way to do a gamma. I have a number of antennas in operation using this method and I have never noticed anything negative with it. 73 gl Jim SM2EKM --
Well, should be Bill Brown, W0SYK. Man did that fellow have a big 20m signal, big antenna and big amplifier= big signal. I might have the article so if noone in the states has it let me know and I?ll
Yes remember working W6TSW all the time back then, he had a big signal indeed, beacme SK a few years ago I think. However, 16 dBi can be obtained quite easy with a 2 yagi stack. Also remember back in
The bigger antenna the stronger you feel. When the antennas gets very big you don´t even have to put RF on them to feel strong, just go out and look for a while, kind a nice since you wount run
Not exactly true. It was a fellow working for HCJB, he had a W9 call but I can´t remember it, think his name was Clarence "something". Yes they have log periodic Yagis. 73 Jim SM2EKM
