If you have moisture in the coax, it can act like this. There will be a high resistance path to ground which will heat up on transmit and reduce in resistance, causing the SWR to rise. Test the coax

I like gamma matched beams because you don't need a balun and there is no DC short to ground at the antenna. You can check for shorts and high resistance paths to ground from the shack. Chuck W5PR __
