I'm using a tail twister rotor 350 ft form the control box turning a 2 el quad, This problem reoccurs each winner when the wind blows ..Well in fact any time the wind blows .. With the wind 20 mph or

Two ways to go... Put the starting cap at the rotor , or put the starting cap at the junction box below. I simply removed the cap from the control box and mounted it at the base of the tower...worked

Hello all, correct me if I am wrong but doesn't moving the capacitor to the rotator free up a couple of conductors that can be repurposed to lower the voltage drop to the motor? 73, Gerald K5GW In a

Should have also mentioned that the capacitors are notoriously failure prone. There are far better and longer lasting capacitors available from air conditioning parts suppliers. As the original capac

That's correct. Those two can be ganged with the two number 14s, but it probably won't be necessary if the cap is moved. Out in KH6 I had a 500 foot run to my 4 el 40 at 150. With the trades constant

Ed Do you know the voltage actually reaching the rotor? When I had this problem with a Yaesu rotor on a long run of cable, I added a "boost" AC transformer in series with the rotor line at the contro

Yes. I have a long run to the rotor on my tall tower, and use ordinary 14-4 house wire for most of the run. It really is the least expensive way to do it. While the jacket won't last forever in the s
