I've been reading all the past threads on the Ten Tec list regarding adjusting AGC and am still at a loss about one thing (well, one that I know about). If the Threshold setting determines the point

Carl, Sinisa and Richard--thank you! Your comments have been very helpful. Think I'm getting it now with the combination of the AGC action to attenuate the strong signals above the threshold and the

Joe, I believe the manual states that you can expect the noise level to increase a bit in some circumstances when the NR circuit is engaged because the Threshold is lowered--the signal to noise level

Ok, got the answer to the keyer timing issue. Been talking to Paul at Ten Tec this morning. He called me back after conferring with their software folks. If you turn the Orion off, it will start agai

I don't think so Chris but you could assign your main receiver to VFO B and sub receiver to VFO A. I remember reading a post sometime that one fellow had done that and had some interesting results bu

Jim, I've seen others mention the AM 2.5 kHz tuning bug and mine doesn't operate that way. I just confirmed by tuning the sub receiver while in AM in 1 and 10 and 100 hz steps. On your second point,

Well, I stand corrected on the 2.5 khz step on AM. The display reads as if you were incrementing by 1 hz but reception pops slightly as the frequency really changes by 2.5khz as you tune. When I read

Bob, as others have said, headphones make a difference. I hear hiss with 8 ohm cans and don't with the 60 ohm ones I use most often. I also put 47 ohm resistors in each line which helps as well. Fina
