I had a similar noise problem from my amp that was caused by a loose plate cap. The fan vibration was enough to cause the amp to act as an oscillator. Try tuning the plate cap when you have the noise

It does not have cover over the entire bottom. There are 2 small ones. On mine a perforated cover covers the bottom side of the output tank and a solid one covers the input circuits were the tube soc

My friend needs a bandswitch for his Ten Tec Centurion 422 amp. The rear wafer alone might do the job too. TT says they would have to build one and the price was terrible. Any suggestions? 73 Gary K7
