Thank you all for the replies to my question on reading the HV voltage using my multimeter. For accuracy's sake & future use I think the suggestion of obtaining a HV probe would be the best choice. I

Don't have any myself but you can try two areas I can think of; 1. the ring from a turbo unit in a car. You'd get that new o'course at a car parts store. They're orange rubber, come in different size
