My BTI LK-2000 runs a 3-1000z. The date code on the tube puts the manufacture date at 1980. The tube is putting out 1500w on 20m with 125w of drive. Question: What is the life expectancy of a 3-1000z

Noll: I don't think I have the HD power supply. My BTI was built in 1966. Regardless, it looks like my three back-up 3-1000z will never be used. I picked up 3 spare full output tubes 3 for 300. total
