To all: What is going on here! Amplifiers with tubes that have handles! Come on now..lets level the playing field. There is no need to ever think of running that kind of power on our amateur bands. B

For the 1 millionth time, can we keep this reflectors discussion to the technical aspects of amplifiers. Take the FCC rule making QRM elsewhere. All we need is more Gov't regulations. Most of us don'

Phil... I like your posts and you seem to be quite good at amplifiers. I disagree with your assessment of the 1500 watt mandatory tube plate dissapation rule. I think that is a novel idea to level t

To: <amps@contesting.com> It also says to RTTY contesters to "run 750 watts." Oops!(playing field tilt) No, we certainly do not need tubes with handles, that is a little "over-kill!" I think an effec

Good words Mike, I agree 100% Someone said a power limitation of a 3CX3000 could be ok, Well I remember when I was using a pair of 4CX250B's at 1200 Watt out almost 2,5 times the plate dissipation. O

Amen. The 700 club reflector would be a good place for the rule givers to post. The station at NSS ran 16 15,000 Watt plate dissipation triodes. I think they were a 3C15,000 with 1 MegaWall output on
