[Steve Katz] Not a bad deal. About the same price they were 10-15 years ago. And, despite all the naysaying here, I've been using these connector pairs on amps for at least 30 years, never seen one

If Millen HV connectors are still made of phenolic, they still absorb moisture from the air. - R. L. Measures, 805.386.3734,AG6K, www.vcnet.com/measures. end -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com

Absolutely stay away from the lesser-rated Millen connectors in any HV application. The first-generation Alpha amplifiers used these connectors between the P.S. compartment and the R.F. deck. Even w

[Steve Katz] Don't know about the 1kV rating, sounds pretty skinny. But I've seen the blue corona (darkened room) around Millen HV sockets only when improper mounting hardware was used or the socket

I really get my caps charged (he-he!) about all the bantering regarding the Millen hv connectors. I`ve been using reds&whites in both of my 4pr1000a amps for over 25 years with no problems at 5500vdc

I hate to agree with Phil (HI HI) but I've also had several of the Millen connectors fail at 4200vdc. Mounted in oversize hole (sanded smooth) and nylon hardware. Big badda boom!! Stopped using them.

In areas of higher humidity, these phenolic connectors would have absorbed more moisture from the air. as This is good HV wire. For the same reason there is a ground wire connection on AC mains outl

? Amen, Paul. I have heard many similar reports. In dry climes, phenolic is more reliable. Hygroscopic material (phenolic) is an accident waiting to happen around HV. cheers - R. L. Measures, 805.38

Another good source of high voltage wire is available at neon sign shops. Ask for the wire used to interconnect the high voltage transformers (15 KV) to the neon tubes. It is designed for outdoor use
