I don't think I have ever seen an article on a 5CX1500 amplifier. They are usually used FM Broadcast transmitters since they can produce over 3kW in class C but can be used in class AB1 as well. They

Without knowing more about it than just the tube used it is difficult to know about documentation. However, in Bill Orr's Handbooks there was a construction article on a 5CX1500 amp. It is in the 21s

I can figure it out and it does work very well I just thought it would be nice to find out if it was built from an old handbook article or if there were others out there running the same tube. See th

This is a conversion of an RF Plasma Products, rf plasma generator. I got three of those. Obviously a multi-band unit with a bunch of mods. Originally it would have been three phase. Need tubes? No i

I would think this should be easy to figure out if you have amplifier experience. One box should be the power supply and the other the RF deck. The tube is a Pentode which means the drive levels will

Hi Robert, You might take a look at the ol' Henry 4K2 (manual available on the web somewhere...), which is the only ham amp I can recall using that tube. 73 & Happy New Year! Marv WC6W http://wc6w.50

The socket is no more special than that for the 4CX1500. It is basically the same socket, It just has an extra connector for the suppressor grid. David Kc2JD/4 _______________________________________

There may also be a slight difference in the center post height in the socket. If look at the physical drawing on the eimac specs perhaps you can tell. The suppressor connector is not a bayonet type

Dont know the year, or issue, but I do remember a HAM RADIO Magazine article on a 5cx 1500 Amp. I remember that the issue had a line drawing of the outline of a 5cx 1500 on the cover... All the Best,

The amp started life as a plasma generator. I did find the original Schematics from the guy who converted it with his additions added in. It is a stout amp and thanks to all for the replys. 73, Bob k

I can't tell you about the 5CX1500B but I have a 5CX1500A in a socket sitting on the desk right in front of me. Yes, there is a difference between the 4CX1500A and the 5cx1500A sockets. But, it is on
