There is more ways to skin a cat. Dick possibly didnt know about the Ameritron choke or the 3 versions before it came out right. Id be willing to bet there are a lot more 8874/3CX-800 Alphas on both

*Today I put in the plate current meter doubler circuit in my Alpha 76PA. It was necessary to remove the power supply to get at the back of the meter. Seemed to go pretty well or at least I thought.

Why not do both? Sell the tubes and sell the amp. for a good price so that folks could put different tube/s in it? Ros We are trying to decide on an asking price. Or would it be better to part it out

Just ask yourself "Would I buy this???" I would not give more that about $300 for a tube-less amp because cant test it. Why buy for much money unknown tubes? Offer the amp as a total package. Charly
