There are quite a few sites out there showing GS35B based amps in various stages of construction but I have yet to see a really solid picture of the completed tank to plate arrangement for a HF amp u

The one time I did it...used a stainless hose clamp around the base of the copper fins and pinched a wire under it. jeff, wa1hco Tomm Aldridge wrote: There are quite a few sites out there showing GS3

Hi, This is probably a BAD way to do it, because the anode cooler will expand considerably going up to 250 degrees C! The hose clamp could result in some pretty big stresses in the tube. Rich Measure

Tomm, George, et al... If heat expands the anode cooler, it does not cause stress on the the GS-35b, because the the heat sink is completely above the tube's metal to ceramic seal. It took a while to

I have a friend that built at 4 x 4CX250B PA for HF. When it came to connect to the valve tops, he drilled a hole in each the anodes and used four screws. Works fine! The GS-35 should be even more su

The way the GS-35b cooler is designed I seriusly doubt a hose clamp would stress the tube ...The way I attach is with a 1/2 inch wide copper strap wrapped around the base of the cooler, each end bent

I can't see any realistic clamp hurting the anode on a GS35. A self tapper in between the vanes would probably work fine. I have to admit to using a 200W soldering iron to connect to '250 anodes in t

Steve, We all have our little secrets. A long time ago I have smoked a 4CX250B RF deck and guess what... I inhaled the smoke... Cheers, Dick PA3DUV -- Original Message -- From: "Steve Thompson" <g8gs

I seen some large snap rings used once. They went around the O.D. of the fins. A smaller one could be used on the anode cap if a fitting size could be found. One last way was using large fuse clips o
