I was reading the description of this Alpha 6-meter amp that claims "Robust 4CX1600B (Svetlana GU-91B) which is very affordable and readily available." ** Has the 4CX1600B gone back into production?

They certainly are not "very affordable" or "readily available". I searched for a long time, and managed to find two of them. They weren't cheap, but I have an amp that uses them, and wanted a couple

The last 6-meter Alpha I saw advertised (on their site) uses a 4CX1500B. I'd think a good replacement might be the Chinese FU728F. As the FU728F has a slightly larger centering pin (bout 0.003") it s

These are two totally different amps. The one with the 4cx1500b is new and is basically the Eimac type 4cx1000 with more dissipation. The older 4cx1600 is a Svetlana type (Russian) tube. No interchan

Hi Roger, it looks like he just copied the text from the ad. written years ago. GU-91B were never plentiful and easy to get for everyone, but those who really wanted it to have allways had a good cha

Although a good many tubes get over rated when I look at the 4CX-1600B the anode doesn't look anywhere near capable of the dissipation of the GU-84B (4CX2500). How much emission it had, I don't know.

The 4CX1600B is a GU-71B and the Pd varies from 1500-1600W depending on the Russian document you read. Yes, the GU-74B is rated at 600W even in SSB service so its no surprise they run out of emission

I dropped him a note via e-bay and he ignored it so I'm pretty sure he knows the tube is made of unobtanium. I'd be glad to give him half the price and then rebuild it, but certainly not as a collect
