I recently obtained an Amp Supply LK-500ZB. The first order of business was the conversion to 120 volt operation. When the amp is powered plate voltage as measured by the internal meter is about 1500

My first guess would be the hv metering resistors. I'm not familiar with the circuit but I would expect that it is a voltage divider type setup with several high value resistors in series with a lowe

It is doubtful that the HV meter is reading so incorrectly. It seems that the reading is just about half what it should be which may indicate that you may have improperly converted the amp to running

I once bought a used SB-220 that had been "converted" to a full-wave bridge rectifier instead of the full-wave voltage doubler supplied by Heathkit. NOTE: I sure would try to run that amp off 240 V,

I bought an AL-80A last year from an estate and had a similar problem - HV read about 2200 volts instead of nearly 3000. The advice I received was that the HV power supply is pretty deadsimple, and i

Sounds to me like there is something not connected properly in the 220 conversion. Remember this particular amp has 2 primaries in the transformers, 3 leads (plus a ground). Lead "A" with the single

Boy did I read that one wrong! Have you connected both primaries to the input voltage. Again Ohm meter ... My LK-500B did not have step start so I added one using resistors in each lead and a double

Remember this particular amp has 2 primaries in the transformers, 3 leads (plus a ground). NO.....I don't think so......there are 4 wires. DUAL primaries 2 wires each primary, that's four. ABCD for 2
