Hi group, I checked the filament voltage on my FL2100b and it is at 7.2 volts or there about. So I then checked the line voltage going to the amp and it is 257 vac, the amp was built for 220v. The HV

I have re-measured the line voltage using my bench AC Fluke meter and the line voltage is @ 244vac. Note to self...pitch cheap meter. I will need to re-measure the filament voltage. Ken N4zed Hi grou

I thought he said the problem was a bad voltmeter. If not, your advice about the resistor is perfect. :-) 73, Mike www.w0btu.com _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps

If a voltage change is needed, a buck transformer (in the primary) won't waste power. A resistor will. Use a transformer w/ a secondary current rating AT LEAST as great as the amplifier's maximum cur

At 244V, the filament voltage will still be around 6.8v. You'll still need that resistance. I've done a million 2100 series amps with a ser5ies/parallel combination of low value 5W wirewound resistor

Why does this thread just keep on going under various subjects? 1. Didn't the OP (quoted below) later tell us that the voltage measurements below were false, because he first measured them using a ch

I guess the guys designing the Collins S Lines, forgot to check with you, before they used 115/230 volt primaries. My Henry 3K-A book says 230 V The Henry 4 K says 230. ? ___________________________

115/230 is fine, and thank you for pointing that out. My point was aimed at "220" volts. 73, Mike www.w0btu.com _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com h

Thanks to all that replied. I change the taps from the 110vac over to the 117vac taps and then I ended up taking the easy way out because I had the wire on hand and added 20" of 20awg wire to each le
