Hi guys, Still regarding my own project.. As the first quote was a bit too salty, I started thinking about alternatives... Last night I came across these schematics from OM Power. They use 8 250v win

This design (old) has the advantages of using 1 kW diodes and 300 Volt capacitors and if a diode shorts and blows it's fuse, the remainder of the power supply keeps operating at the reduced Voltage.

It doesn't look to me, like the secondaries are in series. Each secondary has it's own rectifier and the dc outputs are in series. Is there some sort of path back through the full wave bridge rectifi

Alek, Two power supplies, each with their own diodes and capacitors do NOT change anything regarding voltage breakdown in the 2 transformers when the outputs ar put in series. Think of the circuit li

I asked those chaps about pricing on the 6 Meter Amp. In their response they said they don't have FCC approval yet. I didn't find any schematics on their website, did I miss them ? 73, Dick, W1KSZ __

Yees!! This is an FB configuration. I have one operating in conjunction with a 4-1000 at the 1kW level and it works beautifully. It rids you of bleeder resistors and high voltage capacitors. It was o

First, mine works for about 15 years and during this time burned out 2 BY130 diodes . Second, usually the secondaries are stacked above the primary winding. So that the upper ones have more layers of

They most definitely are NOT! Actually, you have 8 power supplies, separate and insulated from one another and with their outputs connected in series. Think of 8 350 volts DC sources , and then visua

I don't understand how bleeder resistors are no longer needed. (which can also serve as the P.S. Volt meter multiplier) Many HP amplifiers use stacked low voltage capacitors so I don't see a differe
