- Hello all, Recently picked up an older Alpha and was thinking of making the conversion to a pair of 3cx800's from the 3 x 8874's which are in the amp. Any suggestions on a source for good 3cx800 pull

- Steve, The 3CX800 is becoming a premium and "hard to get" tube... have you considered modifying the Alpha to use 4CX800 (GU-74B) tubes which are plentiful and cheaper? Regards Mike G8TIC Recently pic

- What do they mean by low grid current? I would assume that for medical amps they require less drive and Ig for the same output as higher Ig tubes but at lower IMD. Im just surprised they dont quantif
