** QSK-CW is even rarer these days than traditional CW. For me. the reason to use high-speed switching is SSB-VOX. Those who talk continously for 10-minutes are something to be avoided at all cost.

I use a pin diode switch at the antenna to switch the pre-amp in and out during TX and RX cycles. I supply RF (lots of it) and 12VDC. This is in a 50 ohm VHF circuit running "legal limit" so to speak

If you have a rig with decent QSK it can be great. Unfortunately, almost all modern transceivers have terrible QSK. The TS850s, for example, sounds wonderful when testing into a dummy load, but when

Horizontal output transistors work well for the HV bias switch. The switch I built used 5 volts at about 700 ma to turn the diodes on and 1000 volts limited to about 2 ma to bias them off and it wor

My experience is that Tentec radios, like the Omni VI+ and the ORION, have superior QSK. They have had that for years. Too bad that many hams opt for radios with lots of whistles and bells. Most of w

I maintain that there would be a much greater degree of QSK usage if it were implemented properly in the transceiver. Since it's usually a tradeoff between QSK and comfort, it's only used when absolu
