What is the best 1 x 2 prefix to have for contesting-K, N or W? It seems like many of the contesting stations have K 1 x 2 calls, but is that actually seen as the best contesting prefix? 73s John NE0

It is not as much the call as the station. K's I think are more prevalent because of the timing of one of the "vanity/chose your call" periods. Kilowatt, Norway/November, Whiskey/Washington. NA7XX ha

The key to callsigns, IMHO, is to pick one with good phonetics and good CW duration, and then, most important -- USE IT A LOT! If you use it a lot, that will become more important than the actual cal
