For those that were interested in the subject of Control Operators, Unlicensed Operators participating in contests, and the application of Third Party rules, you might want to read the ARRL Field Day
That is one of those rules loosely followed on Field Day I believe (from observation). Same as who is watching the stations at 3:00 AM when all the extra class hams are asleep? Have you been to a FD
Whenever I operate a 1x1 I always ID with my own call every 30 minutes at least. Usually every 10 out of habit. Ria N2RJ _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Con
Actually the hourly legal ID is supposed to be the call sign of whoever the 1x1 was assigned to. For example, K1N for the Navassa DXpedition was assigned to K4UEE and I actually did hear those ops (a
The first time I applied for one (for a club) I did read part 97 about ID requirements but it seemed rather ambiguous. The FCC fact sheet doesn't seem to say which callsign should be used: https://ww
That might not be a good plan, a station signing with multiple callsigns would cause confusion for those working him. I am sure that many hams are not aware of the special event ID requirements in 97

I was trustee of a club 2-meter repeater. A--hole in another club didn't like us. Narc'ed to local FCC guy. 73, de Hans, K0HB -- "Just a boy and his radio" ___________________________________________
A repeater ID is one of the exceptions. I have been in repeater "wars" and it can get nasty. I hope "I'm sorry, Won't do it again" was a sufficient response. --73, Mike, WV2ZOW ______________________
