If we can chose the check number, wouldn't it make sense for everyone, on least on CW to chose "55"? In any event, it would be logical for everyone to use the same number. I'm pretty sure the reason

Hi Mike, My point in this is that the rules state "the last 2 digits of the year first licensed" but people have stated publically on the reflector that they use other checks, and the ARRL has stated
