I worked a LOT of dupes in the RU this year.  Some were coming for the 3rd time on the same band!  In this contest it's not uncommon but just seemed more than the usual - I suppose that's a reflectio

Jeff, Like you, I always work dupes. I work very little RTTY, but in the bigger CW contests, there always seem to be a very small # of EU's that will work me 2, 3 or even 7 times. I can only surmise

The "no dupes" came from the fact that it was very difficult to weed the dupes out of the logs back before computerized logging. So "loading up on dupes" was a way of "padding the log" and was penali

When I first started contesting I fastidiously avoided dupes. But I believe contest rules were amended to not penalize them, so now I log all dupes. I guess some havent moved on from the dupes =penal

I also noticed a lot of dupes in the ARRL RU contest last weekend. My first one was only 16 minutes into the contents and this same K8 duped me again on the same band later. There are many ways this

As a general rule, I always work dupes.  I have one and only one exception: if I have a significant pile (i.e., 3 callers+)  in Sweepstakes, I will call out dupe if I am pretty certain I've worked so

There was never a penalty for working dupes. You just had to removed them from your log and not take the QSO credit for the second or third QSO. I was never good at maintaining a running dupe sheet w

People need to update their mindset about dupes. The do NOT give you a penalty. Also, do not remove dupes from your log.....several contests now state that. Consider....You work Someone, but he logs
