Last night was my first NA Sprint and it was definitely different. At the start I watched a couple of exchanges to see how it flowed (wasn't able to be in the practice session) and then jumped in. Fr

with regard to the dupe, either they worked someone else, and not you before, OR they thought this contest still had the old rule, where you could work dupes as long as there were 3 qsos in between.

Yes, there were a few stations that didn't understand the QSY rule. I know it is frustrating at first because it messes up your rhythm, but then I realize that this is GOOD news that new folks are g

Ed/Jamie, Thanks for the replies and thanks for the Q's last night. I figured with folks using software, as long as it was up to date, it would tell the op it was a dup. I know N1MM did for me. I fig

Ahhhh, this might explain why my old, unupdated version of WriteLog (10.42c) would not indicate that a given station was a potential dupe. With only 15 QSO within 25 minutes in my log, it was pretty

Yeah, Wayne updated WriteLog for this change last summer. ;>) I put the word out on the reflectors (RTTY and CQ-Contest), but they can be easily missed. Marc Ziegler, was a NCCC member dearly loved

And if you've got the S&P habit, taking over the frequency is not what you're used to- I know I tuned away several times, just from reflex. 73, doug world, if I answered your CQ, and it was going to

I actually found the "CQ" on the end quiet offensive. In my opinion, it should NOT be there. It's NOT their frequency until the QSO has been completed by me confirming the exchange. The "CQ" gives ot

I strongly agree with you, Iain. The 'CQ' or 'QRZ' at the end is a "RTTY thing" carried over from the RTTY CQ messages where common practice over the years has been to end such messages with CQ or QR

I say YES! CQ at the end of an S&P exchange is confusing and invites people to jump in before the QSO is properly QSL'd. CQ at the end of a CQ is great, and I wish everyone would use it. While we're

Well, I'll confess that I've had the 'CQ' at the end of my S&P Exchange message for the last few Sprints and I don't know what I was thinking. Clearly, I wasn't thinking. I've been doing CW and SSB S

And the key to know who's frequency it is in sprint is by the way the exchange should be done. Example: Me: CQ NA W0MU W0MU CQ NA ED: W0YK W0YK ME: W0YK W0MU 1 MIKE CO His call then my call says W0YK
