My HP laptop with XP gives me com12 for the USB/Serial connection. This doesn't fit with SD. In my stationary with Win2000 I get com3 and that works UFB. 73 de Lars SM0OY ____________________________

Lars; I was stuck with the same when I got my winkey soldered up. The solution: In device manager, open the USB-device / advanced [for the detected keyer hardware] and change the port setting from CO

This is a common problem with Windows. You should be able to re-assign a lower COM port number to a USB/serial as long as it isn't currently being used by another device. Find the COM port in Device
