That's a good idea to try, another one would be to leave the mic/715/cable to rig inline and disconnect the power supply line ... see if anything changes? That might help to isolate the actual RF ent

My 715 works great on the Paragon. The trick for me was to set it up with another radio in the shack as a monitor with headphones, Got it set like I want it and never told folks about having it. One
