I'd welcome some comments on the internal Eagle AT (Model 599AT). Here's mine: On 3570 KHz, where my MFJ-269 shows the old trap doublet has an SWR of 2.7, the Eagle took 15 seconds to tune. Leaving i

Now I do not have an Eagle, but every auto tuner I have used, (LDG, and the internal tuner on my Yeasu FT-950) the memory tune feature you do not force a tune. One the LDG it sinces the frequency and

Well yes, the routine for the Eagle is slower than many other tuners, even the one in the Orion and Omni VII series. Those are different tuners and have their own processor to handle solely the tunin

Yes, some radios do provide that the ATU will automatically track the transmit frequency. In other cases, the Eagle, the ATU will activate only on user command of pressing TUNE. And every time TUNE i

Perhaps that is why Ten Tec has included it in their Eagle sale:-) And that is why having a built in antenna tuner adds no value to a radio, in my opinion. All kidding aside, the only AT that worked

John, I cannot explain as to why your Eagle tuner has to retune on the same freq unless your actually disabling it and then reenabling when you press to tune again. If you hold the button too long yo

As I stated earlier, the ATU for the Orion series and the Omni VII contains its own processor with only ATU duties to attend. Same for the AH-2. Otherwise, the ATU routine in the Eagle is handled by

John brings up a point not mentioned earlier, that is the MFJ reads and stores the frequency information while the Eagle ATU only stores the band data. Thus when RF is applied the MFJ reads the RF an
