Just getting into my second day with the Orion and I notice a very annoying key click in the headphones. It is mostly on the dits. Reducing power down to 1 watt makes no difference. Setting the Sidet

Add a 100 ohm resistor in the headphone plug in series with the common headphone ground. This will desensitize the headphones enough to allow you to run a higher audio gain and drown out the click. C

If you use 32 ohm or higher impedance headphones, you won't hear the click. I was just suggesting a way for you to continue to use the same headphones. I don't have the click in my headphones at all.

If 32 ohms is the common 'standard' fine ... if not then this is a design issue ... and a tragic oversight which leads to discussions such as this ... if 'X' ohms is the more common 'standard' found

Every earphone in the house has the problem -- from the Heil Proset to the Sennheisers (32 Ohm) to the MFJs to the cheapo walkman headphones. And what about the fuzzy sidetone sound? At least it is a

We should not have key clicks in the headphones on ORION! We should not have to fix this ourselves! This needs to be fixed by TT. Hopefully this can be fixed by SW, but ???? That kind of issue should

Tragic oversight? Where does the tragedy come in? I've found no tragic flaws in my Orion. It is better than anything I've previously owned and better than anything I've used in the shacks of others.
