Hello gang, Please excuse what might be a silly question. I have not owned or heard a rig that employs IF DSP. I am considering getting either a Jupiter or an Argo V with their IF DSP filtering. I ha

Dave, I don't really understand it either but here goes: 1. af dsp is audio frequency digital signal processing and takes place in the audio section of the radio the last amplification or cicuit in t

David, Yes, however there are some well documented things to work around when you make a transition. I had the 570 DG and have the Jupiter. Your efforts will be rewarded by controls that work unlike

Dave, I think the DSP in the Kenwood TS-570DG has to do with NR (noise reduction)and not pass band filtering. The Jupiter has DSP pass band filtering and DSP NR. I think you will finding the receiver

The general rule of filtering ANY signal is to do so as early in the receiver chain of circuits as possible. The bandwidth needed to pass all the RF signal limits the filter sharpness there, and you

IF DSP is worth the extra money! it is decidedly better. jack ak7o but then i am biased, have had IF DSP in both my latest radios. IF that _______________________________________________ TenTec maili

Hello Dave: I once owned a TS570dg and a Pegasus at the same time. I did some A/B comparisons between the two and I can tell you the Pegasus DSP is light years ahead of the 570. AFAIK the Pegasus and

Todays HF RX technology does bandwidth limited IF DSP at only 36 kHz or baseband processing at 0-3 kHz. There are more cycles available at IF carrier and better detection results can be achieved. TS-

So are you saying that we should keep the AGC on slow when using a narrow bandwith or noise reduction ? to prevent A/D overload ? John -- Original Message -- From: "Marijan Miletic, S56A" <s56a@bit.s
