Thought I'd ask on the off-chance somebody has a noise blanker board available for the 544... Love the old 544 but drowning in summertime electrical noise here...much of it blankable on many radios.
Reading comments on eham and elsewhere, the Triton noise blanker is made out to be fantastic! For an example of a useless NB, try my Omni V. Does almost nothing. I used Corsairs for years and have t
The noise blanker in my 544 is extremely effective against line noise. I'm told it would work well with ignition noise, too. But I believe it is not much punkin' on atmospheric noise. (I have been wr

With out looking at the schematic, I believe the noise blanker circuit could easily be replicated if you do not locate one. _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@
I'm always looking for a winter project. Provided there are no hard to get parts such as inductors or transformers, I haven't seen a schematic, I could pop a circuit board for one. Provided, I don't

There were minor circuit differences between my 544 and Omni-C blankers. The Omni-C blanker did not work nearly as well. I set the schematics side-by-side and made the Omni-C correspond. Seems it was
Mike, I would appreciate the schematics and info on the Noise Blanker, I have a 544. Thanks for your help...........73 Ken k5jxl@yahoo.com PacketRadio is Still Alive.......Mississippi.......145.010
The Scout had an excellent noise blanker, and the circuit is not complicated, just 2 IC's and a few transistors. Perhaps you could duplicate it on perf board and fit it inside the Triton. 73, Bob WB2
I will second that on the Scout NB. It was great for the brief time I had mine mobile. _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contestin

NO ANALOG NOISE BLANKER HAS EVER WORKED ON ATMOSPHERIC NOISE. The noise characteristics its made for are ignition noise and line noise that have a regular repetition rate but are made of isolated nar
You may be right about the pulses needing to be narrow and strong in order for most noise blankers to work on them. I do not think you are correct about them needing to have a regular repetition rate

The pulses are transformer or capacitively coupled and shape filtered in that process which tends to be more repeatable with repetitive pulses. There's nothing in the analog circuit other than the pu
