Ok, now the web site is back and info can be obtained. So, if I order a rig tomorrow, or Wednesday, do I specify which CW line up (with the occasional need to be on SSB) 6.3 MHz, all three options of

I will be using a new to me Omni VI+ in the ARRL 160m contest. I presently have all of the filter slots filled except for the 9MHZ IF which has a 500 HZ filter in one slot and the other one is open.

Paul, I think you'll be very happy with the 500 + 250 Hz filters cascaded. That's the setup in my VI+ and it works very well. (My other 9MHz slot has the 500Hz RTTY offset filter.) 73, Duane On Wed,

Paul, Go for the 250 HZ filter. When you need it, you need it. 73 Don K5AQ Omni VI owner _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contest

you'll get as many opinions as answers. i had and got rid of 250 Hz filters in my 6+ because they were always too narrow for me. 160 is a little different since it is a "weak signal" contest, and yo

I operate with the 250 hz filters in both IFs when I ragchew on low band (80 m. in my case) cw. The reason is that together, they cut way down the low band QRN which is usually broad. There is absolu

My question is, is it worth it to go ahead and add the 250 HZ filter in the 9MHZ or does it make it too narrow? Switching in and out the 500 HZ filter sure makes a difference on close QRM. Hi Paul, I

I agree, in fact that's what I did. I listen to cw with the 1.8khz/6.3mhz filter and upon finding a signal that needs filtering help I then engage the 500hz/6.3mhz filter, if it needs more, I engage
