Just one more comment on the internal tuner vs. external. I bought the internal tuner even tho I have a Model 238B to use with the Alpha 99. Why? Because both of my antenna systems are used on bands

i have the Orion with tuner. seldom do i need the tuner at all, tho it is useful when i load my new antenna on 30 and 40 meters. Tennadyne's T8 is not designed for those bands, but it works on them a
