The control of PA current is derived from a R in the A+ line to the PA. The voltage across the R is fed to the 2nd mixer board and driver which reduces drive inverse to the PA current. The current ne

This seems to be a very clear explanation of how it is done, based on actual analysis of the circuit. Thus it seems reasonable to accept that this is how it works. That being so, I wonder why Ten Tec

Curiously this system is not used in early TT rigs -- Argosy, which has a trip in the PSU or a Airpax. And the Omni D (but I'm replying on memory for that). I take it you have tested you hypothesis b

I can't find my Corsair II manual at the moment, but I've not observed that collector current reduction in my Corsair II. Given a bad load Z it simple blows my fuse protector. 73, Jerry, K0CQ _______

As I recall, and I don't have a manual in front of me, the Corsair series and the Delta series did not use current sensing the similar way that the Omni and Paragon series of implementation. Thus the

Excellent thread highlighting a unique TT feature. So TT introduced this feature after the Delta/Cosair (and the Argosy) which seems to put the timeframe in the mid-1980s (perhaps) with the Paragon 1
