Hello Tim, I would say that the grease that is inside that pto is getting old and gummy. I've had the same thing happen on a few of my rigs and after rebuilding the pto, (and putting good grease in)

HI Tim: I think you will get the advice to rebuild the VFO as there is a kit available from TenTec. I suggest before doing this try to wash out the old grease in the VFO (use alcohol and be careful)
