I am looking for a low priced used Jupiter. This will be a temporary rig for me for the next few months or so. I just want to try out a Ten-Tec DSP based rig and an older Jupiter is the most cost eff

I just want to try out a Ten-Tec DSP based rig and an older Jupiter is the most cost effective way to do this. If I like the Jupiter, I will most likely upgrade to an Omni VII or Eagle. So I am looki

I did consider Ten-Tec 30 day trial offer. But for me, I am not so sure about DSP based radios. From my limited exposure to them I have found the sound to be thin, and digital, with grating band nois

I have a deal to purchase a nice Jupiter. Thank you to all who sent me offers! Many of you have asked me to keep you updated on my Jupiter adventure, so I will post my first impressions in a few week

I view the DSP technology used in the Jupiter is quite different than the DSP technology used in the currrent Omni VII or the Eagle radios. Buying a used Juipter will most likely not be represenative

I admire you explaining your reasoning to us and it seems to make sense...except for the following: You want to buy an old Jupiter to try out a DSP radio. Possibly you are overlooking the "old" part.

As an owner of a Jupiter, I can say that the DSP works well. However, it does represent 7-8 year old technology. I personally would suggest that if you want to see how well DSP implementation now wor

I did wonder if indeed the Omni VII and Eagle represented a big leap in DSP radio technology over the earlier Ten-Tec radios, in particular the Jupiter. I read through a number of Yahoo groups and th

OH YES, IT WAS DEFINITELY A QUANTUM LEAP FROM THE JUPITER TO THE OM7 OR EAGLE. The biggest difference is in the Blocking Dynamic Range. I found the Jupiter to be unusable in Europe on 40m at night wh

No argument from me on this particular aspect of the difference from the Jupiter to the Omni VII or Eagle. The next line in my post that was quoted below was "I think that close in dynamic range has

I just replaced my venerable Kenwood TS-450AT with a new (for me) late model Jupiter AT. From my perspective, that's like trading up to a new Bentley from a Model T. For many of us, the best radio is

The only thing that will sound exactly like a Drake 2-B is a Drake 2-B. Same for the Collins S Line but, is that before the audio stage has been modified or after the audio stage has been modified? I

As one that has an OLD Jupiter (used for10 years) and an OMNI VII used for one year I think I can add a little to this discussion. My Jupiter was built in 2000 so is one of the first. I had thought (
