You did not mention what band your wire Yagi is for. RG8X should be fine at legal limit under 10MHz. You will have 1/2 dB loss in 30 meters of coax on 80m. John KK9A Hello I am looking for a 50 ohms

Maybe a coaxial with center in aluminum? Or something lighter than cooper Jorge, LMR400 has copper-coated Al center. 0.1kg/m, 6.8 lb/100 ft. There is a family of lighter weight coaxes sold in EU that

Pretty lossy -- it's the dimension of RG59, but silver-coated copper. Great for chokes and short patch cables in the shack, but that's all I'd consider using it for. 73, Jim K9YC ____________________

If you can get by with 1000 watts, use RG8X. DX Engineering has low loss RG8X. Otherwise, plan on significant loss compared to RG213. You could also use RG400, but with significant expense and loss.

RG400 is only good coax choice for a wire antenna if you need lightweight coax with 10KW HF capability and your wallet is too thick. John KK9A RG400 without a doubt. Spendy though -de John NI0K _____

OP did not specify the feed point height but I have used RG-142 in similar situations to get me from the matched feedpoint down to ground level. Then transition to something like LMR400 (or a clone)

My choice has always been high quality LMR240 (RG8X size). It would be about 0.4db for 100ft on 80M. There really isn't a better option. I use it on my 80M center fed slopers. Ed N1UR _______________
