Jim's comment made me chuckle. Years ago (50s), the MIT club station (W11MX) was in a Quonset hut on the westernmost end of the campus, separated from the nearest "real" buildings by athletic fields.

yes, being southern CA, cold was a quite different experience than MA. we would never get more than cool even though the shack, a metal penthouse, was not insulated. the Henry amp kept it quite nice.
