I am considering getting either the Array Solutions RatPak or a DX Engineering remote antenna switch. Any feedback on either of these, positive or negative ? thanks, Bob K6UJ ________________________

This is not one of the ones you suggested, both of which are probably both wonderful, but I've used a number of the Ameritron RCS-8V switches over the years and they've stood the test of time and are

I have no experience with either, however if the RatPak uses the same relays as the SixPak, they are heavy duty but require every bit of 12v to reliably pull in. MicroHAM, Top Ten, 4O3A and others al

My experience with a DXE switch after 10 years has been no problems, no failures, no issues. I would go with them again. In addition to those already mentioned, Green Heron makes one. Les, W2LK thank

The Ratpack, Sixpak, Top Ten, Microham 6 position, 4O3A and any other 6 port switches are really designed for contesting.   That being said, I have a Top Ten unit and it works flawlessly.  Tom, N2SR

Stick with the switch that uses enclosed relays with higher impedance coils. The "open frame" relays (even with a carbonate cover) with low impedance coils (higher current) are more sensitive to corr

I recommend the 4O3A 6x2 unit. I recently replaced an Array Solutions 6x2 with a 4O3A unit, and measured crosstalk of both units on the bench. The 4O3A unit was at least 20 dB better for all combinat

Jim, Thanks for the info. I will check out the 4O3A. I have never used a remote switch before and wanted to get the most reliable unit I could find. 73, Bob K6UJ On 4/12/16 9:26 AM, Jim Brown wrote:

An issue I found with the Top Ten 2x1 switch box is that it uses the chassis as the return. This causes SWR to rise with increasing frequency. I discovered that when investigating why SWR was rising

Great - I also agree with Joe, W4TV. I have also replaced / upgraded many "open-frame" relays within transceivers / amplifiers / antenna switches over the years with appropriate sealed relays. The "o

Don't sell the surplus military antenna switches short. Mine is a small 4 position rotary drum type fully enclosed. I have a homebrewed control box (24v) which now contains a Binary decoder interface

I've also used the surplus pulsed rotary switches with good success. Had an 8-pole 9-throw unit I used for about 5 years switching an external impedance match-box with 9 fixed L-networks in it. Used
