Try this: While observing the swr on 21.005, try shorting and unshorting the 40 meter feedline in the shack. It is possible that the length of the 40 meter feedline is tuning the xm240 driven element

Scott, I am planning on putting up the KT-34XA tomorrow if the wind goes down, 12 ft. under the 40-2CD already in place. I was planning on leaving the booms in parallel, but may change my mind again.

I have a 402 over a TH6DXX about 10 feet apart and both antennas work ok. Maybe it is the seperation. Can you get it 8 to 10 feet apart? I am using a 2 inch OD .25 wall ChromeMoly Mast. Works good..
